For dogs under the age of six months who haven't completed any formal training. Puppies must have had all three sets of initial vaccinations, with the final vaccination being at least 10 days before class starts.
Foundation class for all new members and puppy class graduates.
Working towards Canine Good Basics assessment at the end of the term.
Introduction of new challenges to the foundations built at Level 1.
Begin looking at CGC Foundation exercises.
Working towards CGC Foundation and Bronze Assessments.
Working towards the skills required for CGC Silver and Gold Assessments.
Domestic Obedience classes are every Monday evening from 7pm - 8pm at Belmont Domain in Lower Hutt
Our classes run outdoors in all weather, and classes are rarely cancelled.
The first enrolment for any course includes Club Membership for the calendar year (January to December)
First course enrolment on or before 30th June: $70
First course enrolment on or after 1 July: $60
Subsequent Enrolments: $50 per course.
Fees are payable by cash, EFTPOS or bank transfer.
Enrolment evenings are held the Monday prior to classes starting. Check the calendar for the next enrolment evening.
All dogs must be registered with their local council and be fully vaccinated.
Proof of vaccination and registration will be required at enrolment.
Puppies are required to be registered by law at 13 weeks. However, we acknowledge that sometimes it takes a little while for these to be actioned by Council, and will require this information once available. New adoptions may also take a little longer but delays will not prevent enrolment.

An extra evening class for members who would like to prepare their dog for obedience competitions.
No experience necessary, all are welcome.

For members who would like to do scenting and tracking with their dog.
Scent training takes place on Sunday mornings. Enjoy training a new skill with your dog (while they enjoy sniffing with the Sunday Sniffers). New dogs start in groups so we can have everyone work through the early stages together for the starter lessons.
